The 2009 WTF World Taekwondo Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark. The biennial World Championships, the 19th edition of its kind for men and 13th for women, attracted more than 1000 athletes from a record 142 countries. The event took place at the Ballerup Super Arena in Copenhagen, and marked the first World Taekwondo Championships to use electronic body protectors.
